Janardan Rai Nagar Rajasthan Vidyapeeth University (JRNVU) was
founded by Late Pt. Janardan Rai in 1937. In 1987, the Government of India
granted it the
status of Deemed-to-be-University. It was
renamed as Rajasthan Vidyapeeth by Founder Pandit Janardan Rai Nagar.Taking
inspiration from previous efforts made by their predecessors to revolutionize
the education in the country,
Pandit Janardan Rai Nagar established ‘Rajasthan Vidyapeeth’ in
1937 to uplift the down-trodden common man in the feudal state of Mewar.
The University started as a Night Study Centre for the Elementary, Secondary and Advanced Courses in Hindi. Now, the Rajasthan Vidyapeeth has blossomed as a bunch ofmore than 50 institutions situated in several districts of Rajasthan.
In the year 1987 the University has been granted the status of Deemed to be University by the Ministry of Human Resource Ministry, Government of India and University Grants Commission (UGC). Since then University has no looking back and moving forward by offering different courses including professional courses for the upliftment of the society.
The University has exercised several academic exchange programmes of its students and faculty members with the Slippery Rock University of America. The University has been accredited B++ by NAAC and approved by Distance Education Council, New Delhi.
The University offers Certificate/ Diploma/ Bachelors and Masters courses. Degree and Post Degree courses are semester based. The university has three-tier system of evaluation and offers backlog facility so that every aspirant could complete his/her desire of higher education. Open University System (OUS) is available for the students of BA and B Com programs. Under OUS, the students who want admission in these programs but do not have the formal educational qualification, can pass a preparatory course to get admission for the above degrees.
Students who do not complete the minimum qualifications in respect to Mathematics or Biology in 10+2 level or Graduation level can avail of Bridge Course System. Bridge Courses are offered in the form of Certificate Programs in Maths (CPM) for 6 months and Certificate Program in Biology (CPB) for 6 months.
