University Profile: University of Rajasthan
University of
Rajasthan (UOR) is the one of the oldest, public and state university
in Rajasthan. The Rajasthan University (RU) is situated in Jaipur, Rajasthan,
India. Rajasthan University was established on 8th January 1947 and in 1956 the
University has been assigned its very first name as University of Rajputana.
Its UGC (University Grant Commission) affiliated campus is located in urban
area. Margaret Alva (charge from June 2012) is the Chancellor of the university
and the Vice Chancellor is Dr. Satyendra Yadav. University of Rajasthan has
accredited A+ grade by NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council).
The University
of Rajasthan constitutes 6 constituent colleges, 11 recognised
research centres, 37 postgraduate departments, and 305 affiliated colleges. The
University do also provide 37 Ph.D programmes, 20 M.Phil Courses, 48 Masters
degree courses and 14 Bachelor degree courses. The University of Rajasthan has
already attracted the attention of students from all over the India and
overseas. The university central campus is spread over 285.5 acres and
satellite campus spread over 149.53 acres. The University has several faculties
and departments. They are Arts, Science, Commerce, Education, Fine Arts, Law,
Management, Social Science, Technology, Business Administration and
Interdisciplinary programmes.
