Hemchandracharya North Gujarat
University, Patan was established in 1986. The objective for establishing the
university is to meet the cultural and educational need of the region. The
University campus is located 130 kms from Ahmedabad spread over an area of 227
acres amidst deep serenity.
The University has 19 post-graduate departments which are funded by the state government. The university runs self-financed courses viz. Social Works, physical educational, computer application & information technology, journalism, physics and library & information science. It also provides part-time certificate courses in vedic astrology.
The jurisdiction of Hemchandracharya North Gujarat University covers four districts of the state of Gujarat, namely Sabarkantha, Banaskantha, Patan and Mehsana. The university was bifurcated from Gujarat University located in the city of Ahmedabad.
Students of HNGU undergo regular trainings/ projects. Summer internship is scheduled at the end of second semester and dissertation at the end of fourth semester. Short term training programmes are arranged at frequent intervals throughout the curriculum.
The University offers facilities such as, Wi-fi, Computer lab, Library, Class rooms, and Hostels.
